At Pat Williams Construction, we believe that there are five important reasons for pursuing excellence in safety performance:

Our safety principles are not just words at Pat Williams Construction. It is the roadmap that we use to guide each project towards safety excellence. Without the following safety principles, we would not be able to achieve the level of performance on our projects nor have the confidence to assure each employee they are working within safe jobsite conditions. We put safety first on all of our projects.

  1. We believe that we can prevent accidental injuries, occupational illnesses, and property damage through proper training, planning, and compliance with our safety program.
  2. We believe that leadership is a key element in creating a safe work environment and expect our project teams to lead by example, putting safety first in their daily work activities.
  3. We believe that establishing a spirit of cooperation with all project Subcontractors, Vendors, Suppliers, Owners, Architects, and Engineers is an important part of creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
  4. We require all our employees to be actively involved in maintaining a safe project site and communication is encouraged to eliminate risks associated with all work performed on our project sites.
  5. We require our subcontractors and vendors to maintain the same high standards and regard for safety as we do.
  6. We believe that each employee has the personal responsibility to themselves, their families, and their coworkers to work in a manner to prevent accidents that cause personal injury or property damage.

Commitment to Safety

At Pat Williams Construction, there is nothing more important than the safety of our employees. We have always known that our people are the cornerstone of our business and our safety culture is supported at all levels of the company. Our safety program is not just something that is in a book - it is the way we do business. We continue to show our commitment to "Safety First" through the following:

For each of our projects, a site specific project safety plan is developed, taking into account the specific safety requirements and environment of the project. This plan outlines the responsibilities relating to safety for all parties on the project and establishes a plan for safety education and training.

  1. On all Pat Williams Construction project sites, weekly "Toolbox Talks" are held with all employees where safe work practices are discussed. We also require that our subcontractors attend these weekly safety meetings and document that their employees attend as well.
  2. For all of our new employees, Pat Williams Construction has an employee orientation program, which includes our safety orientation that was developed in-house.
  3. We are fully committed to a drug-free work environment through random drug testing for all employees to the highest levels of the company.
