Lecture Hall First Floor
The rededication of Williamson Hall, which houses NSU's Department of Engineering Technology, was held in March 2009. The ceremony celebrated both the 50th anniversary of the building and its recently completed $5.6 million rehabilitation project—the first major work done to the facility since its original construction in 1959. The building was named for George Williamson, who was a member of the Louisiana State Normal College (now Northwestern) faculty from 1897 to 1932.

Description: The Renovations to Williamson Hall on the Northwestern State University campus involved a gutting renovation to an existing aging classroom building, and a complete rebuild into a state of the art facility for engineering technology. The addition of a new entrance structure, trussed roof system and loading dock added to the function of this building which also encompasses “dirty” labs, “clean” labs, classrooms, lecture facility with computer smart boards, new elevator, upgraded faculty offices and new finishes throughout the building. The updated façade matches the theme carried on throughout the campus and the landscaping provides a soft welcome to students approaching the building.

Description: State Project 19-657-02B-03: Renovation of the Annex, Existing Auditorium and Cafeteria for the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches, LA is part of a five year growth plan for the LSMSA. For Pat Williams Construction, this project involved the removal of the existing Physical Plant Building for Northwestern State University to provide a space for the new Center for Performance and Technology. The CPT building is a two story, 50,000 SF building that includes a Recital Hall, Black Box Theatre, The Louisiana Virtual School, a Cafeteria, Café and classrooms for the Science Department. In addition, an existing building that formerly housed the Natchitoches Trade School was gutted and rebuilt to house the new Arts Department. This two story building, over 100 years old, is being approached as a historical restoration project on the exterior and will become a modern facility on the inside with facilities for ceramics, photography, art studios, 8 sound proof music practice rooms, 4 music studios, and several choral practice areas.
